About half of the sheepskins are colored and the other half are off white. Some of the hides are BFL/Shetland cross, some are North Country Cheviot/Shetland cross, and some are pure Shetland fleeces. Almost all are lamb fleeces. The katmoget pattern on some of these sheepskins usually has a lighter body with dark edges. Some katmogets have coloration in the body portions, usually at the base of the staple. This makes a cool shading effect!
The hides are measured from the middle, not to the long ends so they are actually 'longer' on the long side.
