A few BFL cross lambs - for sale

As you can see below, the mules are growing very well on the lush clover. We are truly impressed with these lambs and I love the fleeces! I am so interested in them I may want to hang on to a few of the ewe lambs to breed to a terminal cross sire (I'm thinking about it, anyway!). But, there will still be some ewe lambs for sale for $150 each. The NCC ewe lambs are $120 each. Wethers available for butchering, so put your order in for those!

Average weights for the 100 day mark are 61 & 62 lbs for the BFL vs. 59 and 57 lbs for the NCC crosses (ewes & wethers respectively). Carcass quality is somewhat better - i.e. the length and width of the loin & the leg are bigger for the BFL's. Now, this may just be due to the sires that we used too, but I believe both are good reps of thier breed. The NCC ewe lambs are always bigger than the wethers for some reason. May just be due to the way the genes click. Plus we had more triplets for the wethers and more singles for the ewes.

Ruby and twins. The lambs are almost as big as their mother is already! You have to give it to the Shetlands, they can produce as no other breed! Ruby is probably one ewe that will be going back to purebred breeding though I haven't quite figured out who yet.

Notice the width of this ewe lamb. She and her twin are tables!

Length of loin is easily seen on this wether. His twin is very similar as well.
